Pet Show Competition Winners Announced

Participation in our Pet Show Competition at this year’s Ballarat Begonia Festival was nothing short of the bee’s knees.

We received 95 amazing entries from early learning centres, kindergartens, schools and community groups.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall, while all of the busy bee students went the whole hog, in an attempt to position themselves as top dog.

Over the three-day festival, over 6,000 people, grinning like Cheshire cats, made a bee line to vote for their favourite pets.

There were favoured animals on the day, but as they say, you shouldn’t count your chickens before they hatch.

So, it’s time to let the cat out of the bag and announce the winners. There were a few dark horses, but in the end the voters had their say.

Best Use of Recycled Materials went to Black Hill Primary School for their entry Baarton. The People’s choice award went to St Thomas More Primary School for their entry Jock and Best in Show went to St Patrick’s Primary School in Gordon for their entry Rex.

A huge thank you to all of the students involved and the public for taking the time to vote at the festival.

Winners received an art pack and our famous Be Smart Choose Tap water bottles.
